Sportsworld Map Series

Over the coming weeks we’ll be posting a series of maps of all your favorite training runs. We’ll start tomorrow with the routes generally used during the winter months, then move into some of the longer runs such as the Phoenix Park and the Waterworks before posting the routes used during the summer. Ever wondered when to pick up the pace and when to ease off during the fartlek…..then wonder no more!

We’ll also have some photos to accompany each map along with notes where to park for areas away from Bushy Park. If any budding photographers out there want to send in some pictures then feel free and we'll attach it to the relevant map. And you have any suggestions for maps or comments then don’t hesitate to contact us.

Also as you know the Club Titles page has been started. But there is only so much we can research online and so many results sheets we can trawl through without going cross-eyed so if you are a present or past member don't be shy or modest and contact with any details you may have of Sportsworld titles we've missed. We just need to know who, what, where & when....the how you can keep to yourself!
Cheers
Eoin

Long Slow Run : Phoenix Park

With marathon season coming near this is an initial stab at outlining the standard 10 mile loop that we use in the phoenix park on sunday morning. The usual plan is to meet and start at 9.30 from the civil service grounds. There is a wide variety in the paces that people run, and quicker ones add a couple of miles on at the end. Once every one is back, coffee and scones are devoured.
